How to register

Register a .ART domain in mainland China: choose a registrar, complete real-name verification, compare prices and renew.

The .ART registry sells .ART domains through ICANN-accredited registrars. In mainland China, you can register a .ART domain with any of the partner registrars listed below. Registrars differ in pricing, bundled services and customer support, so it is worth comparing them before you choose.

Choose a registrar

Search for the name you want on the registrar's website. If it shows as available, follow the instructions to order and pay. Some registrars do not offer premium domains (a curated selection of higher-value .ART names), so the same name may show different results at different registrars.

Real-name verification

Under Chinese regulations, domains registered in mainland China must complete real-name verification (实名认证): individuals usually provide proof of identity, and companies and organisations provide a business licence or similar documents. Verification is handled by the registrar; follow the registrar's instructions for exact requirements and steps.

Pricing and renewal

Registration and renewal prices for .ART domains are set by each registrar, and first-year offers may differ from renewal prices. First-year prices for premium domains vary by name; their renewal price is higher than for standard domains and does not depend on what you paid for the first year.

Domains are registered by the year. Renew with your registrar before the expiry date so that your domain does not lapse. You can also transfer a .ART domain to another registrar that offers .ART, following the standard ICANN transfer process.
